Submission to the ACT Housing Choices Consultation

25 March 2018
ACT
Summary
Summary: Submission to ACT Housing Choices Consultation Many older individuals prefer detached or semi-detached housing, but there has been a shift towards multi-storey apartments in the ACT. Current zoning regulations do not provide enough housing diversity for older individuals who wish to downsize. There is a need for more accessible and environmentally sustainable housing options. National Seniors members in the ACT desire age-friendly infrastructure and compulsory accessibility standards for new developments.
