This research aims to identify entrepreneurial opportunities for older Queenslanders, and the support they need to succeed in business ventures.
One of the goals of the Queensland age-friendly action plan is to facilitate senior participation in
employment, training, and lifelong learning, and to create new opportunities for older people to
work. The aim of this study is to provide information on the interest and support needs of older
Queenslanders in becoming successful entrepreneurs. It is noted that although studies have
drawn attention to older-age entrepreneurship, it is still an under-researched area, characterised
by an empirical data scarcity
